Willems E&C has many years of experience in engineering, project management and consultancy in optimizing and automating industrial production-, assembly- and handling processes. Our customers can count on professional guidance, coordination and advice. From preliminary research and feasibility study to implementation and aftercare.
Engineering:
Do you have a technical or business challenge for your production or business process, and you do not yet have a concrete solution in mind? We can help with the concepting of this. We look at the current process and discuss what you want to grow towards. Together we draw up a program of requirements and wishes.
We then translate this into a few concepts, which are tested against the program of requirements and wishes. This leads to the best concept (pre-engineering process).
Sometimes it is necessary to produce a prototype in order to test and improve the implementation and operation (proof of concept). We can then take care of the entire engineering for you (the final design process in 3D, production drawings, etc.).
Project Management:
Our Project Management expertise is mainly aimed at optimizing and automating production-, handling- and logistics processes in companies. The aim of this can be, for example, an increase in productivity, quality improvement, cost savings, sustainability or a combination of these.
We accompany your project from the beginning through the implementation to its completion:
- We draw up a project plan, for which we determine, among other things: the objectives in consultation with stakeholders, deliverables (output of project activities, e.g. reports, documents, plans), the size (scope of supply) of the project, the required resources (budgets, time and schedule, but also equipment, materials and people), tasks and responsibilities, possible risks, dependencies and constraints.
If necessary, we first make a problem analysis and carry out a feasibility study and / or risk analysis. - After approval of the project plan, we work out a detailed schedule, taking into account different phases (eg design, preparation, realisation, aftercare).
- We then coordinate the project implementation, keeping resources (materials, people, …) and constraints (scope, time, budget, ….) under control during the project.
- A final evaluation follows at the conclusion of the project.
We use a practical approach, our roots lie on the work floor, at companies in the manufacturing industry.
Commissioning:
For a smooth commissioning of a machine or system, it is important to carry out a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) before delivery. We can draw up and implement a FAT protocol for this. This makes it possible to clearly record how all agreed requirements and specifications have been met. If approved, delivery and installation can follow.
After complete installation, it is important to carry out a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) before commissioning. This checks and records whether the installation has been carried out as agreed and whether everything ultimately functions as agreed. If all tests have been assessed positively, the machine or system can be delivered to the end user. We can fully arrange such a SAT for you. For example, we pay attention to agreed capacity, reliability (endurance tests), deviations, damage, safety and CE conformity, error handling, documentation, training.
Consultancy with a practical approach:
In addition to project management, we as a consultant can of course also play a good advisory role within your organization in optimizing and automating industrial processes (production, assembly and associated handling). For example, you can think of:
- Increase productivity;
- Quality improvement of process and product;
- Preparation for and implementation of highly flexible production capacity (Flexible Manufacturing)
- Making process and product more sustainable;
- Reducing operational costs;
- Product redesign;
- Labor savings;
- Technical-economic feasibility studies;
- Subsidy applications;
- Digitization.
Production optimization is in our DNA.
We have many years of experience with medium-sized companies in the manufacturing industry. We use a practical approach in which there is plenty of room for the input of all employees involved. We are convinced that optimized processes form the basis for further growth. Digitization is becoming increasingly urgent in order to be able to optimize better and faster.
External fresh look.
Our external fresh look can be valuable and help against company blindness. Logically, each company has knowledge of its own production process. We visit many different companies in the manufacturing industry and see a multitude of techniques, processes and working methods. Together we can combine that knowledge to keep moving forward.
We often agree on a trajectory with an end goal, for example an investment plan, a project plan, a technical concept. Where necessary, we work together with partners to take our advice to an even higher level.
Improve continuously.
Technical and digital developments follow each other in rapid succession, especially in industry. Manufacturing companies that are not actively working on an innovative production process are increasingly lagging behind the front runners. Continuous improvement requires a total overview of the production process and a plan to continuously improve and innovate this process. Continuous improvement is an ongoing long-term approach. Efficient, error-free and flexible production is central to this. Here, too, our external fresh perspective can be valuable. The fact that something is going well, or that nothing seems to go wrong, doesn’t mean it can’t be better. Everyone can get started with continuous improvement. Nevertheless, it is useful to do this in a structured way, with the right methods. Usually in small steps that can be implemented in a short time, with input from all parties involved, clear communication and evaluations. Do you need support and guidance in optimizing your industrial manufacturing processes? Many variants and interpretations are possible for our tailor-made advice.
